Kolkata के Eden Gardens में रविवार को खेले गए Super Eight match में West Indies ने 196 का target रखा। India ने इसे 4 balls बाकी रहते chase कर लिया - और इसके हीरो रहे Samson।

Samson के numbers देखो - 50 balls, 97 runs, 12 fours, 4 sixes, strike rate 194! बस 3 runs से century miss हो गई, लेकिन match-winning knock तो खेल ही दी।

"Whole world means to me" - Samson

Match के बाद Samson काफी emotional थे। उन्होंने कहा, "It means the whole world to me. Right from the day I started playing, I started dreaming of playing for the country. This is the knock I was waiting for."

31 साल के Samson ने बताया कि उनका journey आसान नहीं रहा - "Had a very special journey. Had a lot of ups and downs. I kept doubting myself, thinking will I make it?"

Kohli-Rohit से क्या सीखा?

Samson ने credit दिया senior players को - "I've been playing this format for many years and learned from a lot of greats like Kohli and Rohit Sharma. I have played only 50-60 games but have seen more than a hundred."

इस match में उनका approach अलग था। उन्होंने बताया, "Last game we were batting first, so I was going from ball one, but this game it was different. Every time I tried to go too high, we were losing wickets. Just stayed in the present, played the ball on the merit."
